You want to catch and tame all of them but you only have one rope and you have to decide(yeah, I love westerns). Imagine events like beautiful wild, difficult to catch ,horses.

Let's now discuss when you should pull and when you should not pull. Unless you are a whale you are going to need many thousands of them(I have used till now something around 8000, maybe more). There is no such thing as too many mystery shards. Always buy the mystery shards you find in the market. I did that mistake too until I got my first legendary book thanks to mystery shards(more on that later, wow, I have left too many things for later). One of the most common mistakes new players do is underestimate the value of mystery shards. I will repeat that, mystery shards also need to be stockpiled. Which shards do you need to save and stockpile? Sacred shards, void shards, ancient shards AND mystery shards. The main idea is that when the good event comes you want to have as many shards as possible because that will allow you to get what you want and what you need. The key words here are" saving and stockpiling". Pull once or max twice every month and only in carefully selected events. If you don't want to test your luck here is what you should do:ĭon't randomly pull shards and start saving and stockpiling. Pulling randomly the first months made me realise that it doesn't work for me. In ancients and sacred I haven't got any of the over-powered legos(no MaShalled, Valkyrie, Rotos, Bad El Khazar, Dracomorph or Prince Kymar) and still missing some important epics(Deacon, Rector, Doompriest). After 2 and a half years in the game I still haven't got even one void legendary and from the important epics, no maneater(means no unkillable), no Serris(I eventually got her but in a guaranteed champion event, more on that later) and I finally got Coldheart 2 months ago. Others, like me, have awful luck and that doesn't work at all. Some gamers are just randomly pull and that works quite good for them. You might pull 150 hard-earned shards and get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else except useless rares and useless dupe epics(not an exaggeration, happened to me in the last event, more on that later). The problem is that it is a part based on RNG(Random Number Generator) and because the odds are always against you it might go terribly wrong. There is certainly no doubt that pulling shards, hoping to get a good legendary might be one of the most fun parts(if not THE most fun part) of the game. It will save you from a lot of later agony and drama. If you are a new player, this is, in my opinion, a must read. I know redditors don't like to read long posts but unfortunately there are a lot to be said. I am starting a 3 parts guide for new players hoping that I will help them avoid my mistakes.
